Invisalign Procedure

You’ll swing by for a complimentary consultation at our Manhattan Beach dental office. Dr. Gutierrez will examine your mouth, chat with you about your goals and needs and let you know if you’re a good candidate for the treatment. Of course, we’ll answer any questions you may have and let you know what to expect during the process.

This is the fun part. We take digital impressions (no gagging on putty!) with our iTero Element Scanner as well as digital x-rays and pictures of your teeth. We can then create a detailed, 3D model of your mouth, which your doctor will use to specify the exact movements of your teeth. We’ll even be able to show you what your smile will look like at the end of treatment with the Invisalign Outcome Simulator.

Invisalign will create custom aligners based on the movements prescribed by Dr. Gutierrez. Thanks to that 3D model, they’ll be a perfect fit. Crafted from clear, smooth, BPA-free plastic, they’ll slip right over your teeth and most people won’t notice them. You’ll wear them for approximately 20 to 22 hours each day, taking them out to brush and floss your teeth and to eat.

About once every two weeks, you’ll swap out your current aligners for a new set. As you make your way through your series of aligner trays, your teeth move a little closer to their ideal positions. While Invisalign doesn’t require any adjustments like braces, you’ll still come in for the occasional checkup so we can ensure everything is on track.

Congrats! You completed treatment. Now, toss that final set of aligners and show off your gorgeous, healthy smile. We can create a custom retainer for you to ensure your results last a lifetime.
